"I brought my 5 year old Mustang gelding to Bear Creek last summer due to his sudden onset of bolting.  He was suddenly and unpredictably going from a walk to a 30 mph gallop in 3 strides.  I was on the ground before I knew what happened.  And it happened about 3 times.  So needless to say, I was afraid to get back on him.  It hurts pretty good when you hit the ground at that speed.  It's more of a catapult than a fall. 

I was advised by more than one person to send him to auction and just get rid of him.  Couldn't do it.   I boarded him at Bear Creek for the whole summer while Krista slowly and patiently worked with him, building up his courage and confidence.  She trained with calmness, never with anger,  and a true understanding of what was bothering him.  She understands that horses have their own time schedule and it is not the same as ours.  This was no 30 day fix and I was happy to give her and him the time it took.  We are now both riding him and he's doing great.  I was at the far edge of my training ability and could not have done this without her.  Now she's teaching him how to jump.  Watch out you Grand Prix people."
